About Jess:

As an outdoor enthusiast Jess has strived to recreate landscapes she has explored in the form of her paintings. Her works style has been deeply influenced by impressionistic artist with thick stylized landscapes using oil paint. Texture plays a critical role in Jess's creative process in addition to exaggerated color choice. By mixing parts of natural materials into plaster and then using a pallet knife she is able to carve and shape features giving her paintings an additional 3-D effect. Jess studied art in her home state of Utah where she majored in painting and drawing. She has continued to do occasional shows and commissions when she's available. In her free time she can be found out in the mountains with friends, family and her beloved dog Chief.
