with Featured Artists: Tara Butcher of Wishing Rock Studios + Laura Young

Tara and Laura’s relationship started off as any average barista and coffee shop regular would. That is until the day when Tara wore a bolo tie to work. This wasn’t just any regular bolo though, this bolo tie had a shiny rock in the middle. See, Laura is a self declared rock hoarder and immediately started talking about her love for rocks. Little did Laura know, Tara is also obsessed with collecting rocks. A beautiful friendship began from that moment and has opened up to these two rocks aficionados to creating this show.

Tara is a printmaker and watercolorist, that primarily focus on creating beautiful and emotionally driven works based on the natural world. By day Laura is a general maintenance worker, the average jack of all trades. But her true passion lies wandering creeks and beaches looking for beautiful rocks and unique pieces of drift wood. She views both as nature’s art just waiting to be collected.
